Wood that feels soft or spongy, crumbles, or lets a screwdriver sink in is rotted. Peeling paint, dark stains, and gaps around windows and doors are the early signs.
How much wood is affected, where it is, and whether it can be rebuilt or has to be replaced set the price. The estimate is free and itemized, so each repair is its own line.
Small areas of rot can be cut out and rebuilt with a wood epoxy; larger sections are replaced with new wood. We use whichever will hold up in that spot.
