Whether it is an interior or exterior door, the number of panels, painting one side or both, the frame and trim, and the material all move the price. The estimate is free and itemized per door.
Yes. Metal and fiberglass need a different primer than wood so the paint grips instead of peeling, and we choose it by material.
Satin or semi-gloss enamel. Doors get touched constantly, and a harder, slightly glossy finish wipes clean and resists scuffs far better than flat paint.
It depends on the door. Some finish best laid flat, others painted in place. Either way, the hardware comes off or is masked, so there is no paint on hinges, knobs, or locks.
Enamel is dry to the touch within hours but takes longer to harden, and closing it too soon is what makes a door stick to its frame. We tell you when it is safe, and on an exterior door we plan the day so the house can be locked at night.
