Yes, as long as the scale is right. Lower ceilings call for a slimmer crown, and higher ceilings can carry a larger or layered one. We bring samples so you can see them in the room before you choose.
Walls and ceilings are rarely square, and a plain mitered joint opens up when they aren't. Inside corners are coped to fit the actual angle, and seams are glued and filled before paint.
Houses move with the seasons, so the joint between crown and ceiling is caulked with a flexible sealant and the molding is fastened into framing, not just drywall. The work carries a 5-year workmanship warranty.
MDF and finger-jointed pine are the usual choices for painted crown; polyurethane crown is lightweight and resists moisture, which suits bathrooms and kitchens.
